Q. How do I sign up? 
A. To sign up, please click here and fill out all necessary information about you, your pet(s) and your home, and we will call you within 24 hours to schedule an initial in-home "interview".
Q. What does the initial "interview" entail? 
A. When you sign up with Pet and Home Sitters, LLC. we will schedule a pet sitter to come to your home for an initial "interview" — to meet your pet, become familiar with your home/routine, and discuss all pertinent information about your pet's needs.
Q. Is the information I provide Pet and Home Sitters, LLC kept confidential? 
A. Yes! We do not disclose client information of any kind to third parties. All client information is protected by Pet and Home Sitters, LLC and accessed/utilized only in such a manner as to be able to fulfill our assignment obligations.
Q. Can I be assured of the same Pet Sitter each time? 
A. We definitely prefer to offer your visits to the same Pet Sitter each time, however if that sitter is not available for some reason, a fully informed substitute from our staff will always be available for back up.
Q. How does your Pet Sitter get access to my home? 
A. Before you depart home, we are provided with a copy of your home keys, which are stored safely in our Permanent Key Storage System. We will test all keys — at our free pet consultation — and make sure we understand your instructions for activating/deactivating your alarm system. Our key rings have no identifying information (just in case they are lost or stolen). During each visit, our pet sitters will follow a work order of instructions to ensure that we keep your home safe and in the same condition that you left it to us. Q. How long is each visit? 
A. Standard Vacation Visits and Dog Walks are a approximately 30-, 45-, 60-or 90- minutes in length (at your choosing), and are accompanied with a Daily Log that specifies the time in/out, the services performed and any comments your sitter thinks you might find interesting or informative about your pet's behavior.
Q. Do you offer any sort of satisfaction guarantee? 
A. You want to know that your pet will be cared for just the way you specify. And we will guarantee it every time! If you are not 100% satisfied with the service that was provided, we will be happy to address your concerns. We believe in lasting client relationships and so our service is only complete when you have returned home and are completely satisfied.
Q. What kind of animals do you care for? 
A. We care for most animals, as long as they do not pose a danger to our Pet Staffers. We do not care for any animals with a history of biting, fighting or attacking other animals or people.
Q. Do you provide doggie day care and puppy day care services? 
A. Yes. Our doggie day care and puppy day care services are one-on-one, subject to availability and compatibility with pet sitter's pets (if any).
Q. What areas do you service? 
A. We have dog sitters, cat sitters, puppy sitters, and dog walkers throughout Long Island, New York, extending from the Nassau/Queens borderline through Nassau County and Suffolk County. Our availability varies based on time of year and the current pet sitter assignments; therefore, we appreciate as much advanced notice as possible. We understand that "stuff" happens!
Q. Are you bonded and insured? 
A. Pet and Home Sitters, LLC and all of our Pet Staffers are covered by our bonding and insurance policies to the maximum levels available.
Q. How do you know your pet sitter is a trustworthy professional? 
A. Pet and Home Sitters, LLC 's foremost priority is the safety and security of our clients, their pets and their property. Our Pet Sitters undergo an extensive screening process before they are hired, including reference checks and background history checks.
Q. Do you administer medication to pets? 
A. We will administer medication — pills, drops, injections and subcutaneous fluids at no additional charge but based on our ability to refer a sitter to you that is experienced in administering your pet's particular type of medication. We will not administer medication to any animal that poses a danger to our pet sitters.
Q. What if my property or pet is damaged while I am gone? 
A. Pet and Home Sitters, LLC agrees to provide the services stated in our service agreement in a reliable, caring and trustworthy manner. Pet and Home Sitters, LLC. is only liable for claims arising from negligence or willful misconduct. Due to the extreme unpredictability of animals, we cannot accept responsibility for unusual mishaps (i.e., biting, furniture damage, etc.). Also, if your pets have access to the outside, we are not responsible for injury, disappearance, or fines.
Q. How am I billed, and when is it due? 
A. We accept Cash, Checks, Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover Card and full payment is required in advance. Keep in mind that you may also purchase "books" of 5, 10, and 30 visits to take advantage of lower rates. Future visits are then credited against your total visits purchased.
Q. May I give my Pet Sitter a gratuity? 
A. Absolutely. You may give gratuities directly to your Pet Sitter, or if you prefer you may pay it through the company. 100% of gratuities go directly to the designated Pet Staffer.
Q. Do you have references? 
A. Yes. References are available upon request.
Q. How do I become a pet sitter?

Q. How do I know that my pet visits are completed? 
A. As, each visit is completed, our pet sitters are required to call into our proprietary Pet Appointment Reminder System. If they forget to call or check-in, our system will automatically send SMS text messages, call the sitters, and send email messages to ensure every pet and home get their visits. Additionally, our pet sitters will leave a log sheet for each visit, including detailed notes about the pet's eating status, any messes that were cleaned up, play time activities, and, if your pet did their business (#1 and #2)!
